The government of Ukraine adopted at a sitting on Wednesday a package of 37 documents on property issues at ports.
As First Deputy Transport and Communications Minister, Vasyl Shevchenko said, 10 documents were adopted unanimously.
According to him, the government allocated land to the Ports of Odesa, Yuzhny and Illichivsk.
Moreover, the strategy of seaports development in Ukraine was amended.
Shevchenko said that the government also supported a project for the construction of moorings worth $500 million at the Odesa trade port, with the increase in depth up to 15 meters.
At the same time, as a correspondent of Interfax-Ukraine reported, Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko charged all interested ministries and departments with preparing and coordinating the rest of documents by the end of the current year.
Tymoshenko also proposed to transfer some of the auction duties while realizing investment projects at ports, as well as a part of the income of ports to the budgets of the cities in which these ports are located.
According to her, if local government has an interest in the development of ports it will be able to solve more effectively the issue of the allotment of land plots for the construction of trans-shipping complexes.
