The Cabinet of Ministers has appointed Valeriy Piatnytsky Ukraine's acting minister for economic development and trade, a source in the government has told Interfax-Ukraine.

According to the source, the decision was taken at a government meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 8.

Piatnytsky holds the post of deputy minister for economic development and trade.

At the same time, the ministry could not officially confirm this report.

As reported, on Sept. 2, the Verkhovna Rada accepted the resignation of Economic Development and Trade Minister Pavlo Sheremeta.
