The government of Ukraine has refused to give state guaranties on a EUR 50 million credit to Lviv Regional Directorate for Flood Prevention to realize an investment project on the comprehensive flood prevention in Lviv region, the head of the Lviv regional state administration, Mykola Kmyt, has said.
According to him, the administration had the chance to attract such a credit from Britain’s Aquasafety Invest Company (Britain) with annual interest rates of 10.1%.
At the same time, the government refused to give state guaranties with such interest rates, Kmyt added.
He said that the government is ready to give state guaranties for this loan with interest rates of 9.5%.
As reported, the Cabinet of Ministers under its resolution approved the attraction of the credit by Lviv Regional Directorate for Flood Prevention to realize an investment project on the restoration of flood-prevention infrastructure in Lviv region in 2009-2011.
