Verkhovna Rada Chairman Volodymyr Groysman and U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Geoffrey Pyatt have discussed the results of the visit of U.S. Vice President Joseph Biden to Ukraine.

“There was a previously scheduled meeting of Chairman of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman and U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Geoffrey Pyatt. During the meeting, the parties discussed the results of U.S. Vice President Joseph Biden’s visit to Ukraine,” Groysman’s spokesman Dmytro Stoliarchuk said answering a question why the U.S. ambassador came to the Ukrainian parliament on Dec. 11.

Stoliarchuk said that meetings with heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Ukraine after visits by senior officials of these countries were a common practice.

As reported, Biden was on a visit to Ukraine on December 6-8. He held meetings with Ukraine’s President Petro Poroshenko, Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk, Kyiv mayor Vitali Klitschko, as well as representatives of civil society and lawmakers of Ukraine.

On Dec. 8, the U.S. vice president made a speech in the session hall of the Verkhovna Rada.
