The Ukrainian Health Ministry has denied reports that the country is conducting clinical trials of Sinovac Biotech, a vaccine against the A (H1N1) influenza virus, the ministry's press service reported on Tuesday.
As of September 2, 2009, the ministry’s department of regulatory
policy on the sale of medicines in Ukraine’s healthcare system has
received no registration documents for Sinovac Biotech swine flu
vaccine, the press service said.
The department has also received no documents on conducting clinical tests of the vaccine.
As reported, China’s Sinovac, a developer and producer of vaccines,
said late in August that it had developed a cheap and effective vaccine
against the A (H1N1), also known as swine flu. Ukrainian media reported
that the company was conducting clinical trials of the vaccine in
Ukraine.
