Just days ago Sir Elton John and David Furnish's hopes to adopt the little boy who had stolen their hearts were dashed by the news that Ukrainian laws prevented them welcoming 14-month-old Lev into their home. But there is a light at the end of the tunnel for the 62-year-old singer and his Ontario-born partner. Authorities in Ukraine have come up with a compromise that would allow him to raise HIV-positive Lev in the UK, but which would also involve the little boy's mother.
