Kyiv (Interfax-Ukraine) - The hryvnia exchange rate on the interbank currency market fell to UAH 7.50/$1 on Friday from UAH 7.35/$1 after trading on Thursday.
Currency market operators told Interfax-Ukraine that market quotations initially ranged at UAH 7.20-7.60/$1 and then narrowed to UAH 7.40-7.60/$1, with expanded currency supply on the market.
“Today, the market was short of currency sellers, thus, the exchange rate might be stopped or even strengthened under certain conditions on Monday,” a member of the treasury of one of the banks said.
The National bank of Ukraine did not intervene in the market on Friday.
