A mission of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) is to arrive in Kyiv on October 12, the Ukrainian Finance Ministry has said in a report on its official Web site.

“An IMF mission led by Ceyla Pazarbasioglu will be
in Kyiv on October 12 through 24… The IMF’s experts will assess the
fulfillment of the Stand-By Arrangement efficiency criteria under the
memorandum on economic and financial policy,” reads the report.

As reported, the IMF last year decided to disburse
about $17 billion under the Stand-By Arrangement. Since then, Ukraine
has already received three tranches worth almost $11 billion. The
fourth tranche worth $3.8 billion is scheduled for November. However, a
number of experts doubt it will be allocated, as Kyiv has failed to
meet some of the obligations it undertook before the IMF.

Ukraine, in particular, should have raised gas
prices for households by 20% as of September 1, and for heat suppliers
as of October 1. However, neither of these actions were taken.
