The chief economic crime department at Ukraine's Ministry of Interior Affairs and the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) have cracked down on an international crime group that was engaged in the forgery of visa documents which allowed Ukrainians to illegal enter the United States.

Ukrainian News learned this from the press service of the Ministry of Interior Affairs.

The criminal group comprised 20 citizens of the United States originating from the Commonwealth of Independent States, and five citizens of Ukraine.

The Ministry of Interior Affairs and the FBI established during a secret under cover operation that the criminal group provided people eager to enter the United States with forged documents.

The group charged $12,000 from each customer for forged documents.

The law enforcement agencies have identified 40 individuals who came to the United States under the scheme.

The investigative department of the Kyiv city office within the Ministry of Interior Affairs has launched a criminal case in accordance with article 190 and 358 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
