You're reading: Interior Ministry: Interpol hasn’t decided to put Yanukovych on wanted list yet

As of August 1, the General Secretariat of Interpol has not yet considered the materials regarding putting ex-president of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych on the international wanted list, the head of staff of the Ukrainian Bureau of Interpol, Vasyl Nevolia, said.

No decision has been taken as of August 1, 2014, the Interior Ministry’s Web site on Friday quoted Nevolia as saying.

Nevolia noted that Ukraine submitted all the necessary documents to the General Secretariat of Interpol back in March of this year. According to him, these materials are still being considered by the Office of Legal Affairs of the General Secretariat of Interpol.

Deutsche Welle reported earlier that Interpol had been considering a request for putting Yanukovych on the international want list for a long time – almost six months. Ukraine says that the delay in the matter is caused by problems with the evidence.
