Khmelnytsky – Experts from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on October 13 started inspections at the Khmelnytsky nuclear power plant, the information center of the Khmelnytsky nuclear power plant has reported.

The experts arrived at the nuclear power plant in accordance with a memorandum between the Ukrainian government, the European Commission and the International Atomic Energy Agency on checking the safety of Ukrainian nuclear power plants.

The experts, together with representatives of design organizations, are checking the correspondence of the draft documentation and equipment of the power plant with the modern standards of the International Atomic Energy Agency.

The International Atomic Energy Agency is conducting its final mission at the Khmelnytsky nuclear power plant after conducting a round of inspections of other Ukrainian nuclear power plants that began in 2008.

The work of the agency at the Khmelnytsky nuclear power plant will last until October 16
