Experts from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) have started working at the Pivdenno-Ukrainska nuclear power plant, inspecting its reactors so as to include them in a program on the effective management of ageing reactors.
As the press service of the National Nuclear Generating Company Energoatom reported, the mission consists of four experts headed by Ervin Liszka, who is responsible in the agency for overseeing the operating safety of nuclear power plants.
“International experts have arrived at the invitation of Ukraine so as to assess the formed methods of selecting reactors [for the ageing reactor program]. It is expected that members of the mission will give their proposals and recommendations which will help to improve the work in this direction,” the reports said.
