Demonstrators against adoption of the new Tax Code in Khmelnytskiy region Nov. 16 removed the doors of the regional administration building, forcing the pro-presidential governor to flee.

Holding placards, reading "The Tax Code of Tigipko and Azarov means the genocide of entrepreneurs" and "No to tax slavery," the protesters called on governor Vasyl Yadkhuto to address their concerns. When he failed to comply, protesters removed the doors to the regional administration building before being stopped by police.

Information agencies said Governor Yadkhuto and top regional officials fled from the building when the protesters arrived.
