You're reading: Khoroshkovsky wins promotion to first deputy prime minister

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has signed a decree appointing Valeriy Khoroshkovsky as Ukraine's first deputy prime minister, the presidential press service has reported.

Under another decree, Khoroshkovsky was dismissed as finance minister.

Khoroshkovsky headed the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) from March 11, 2010 to Jan. 18, 2012.

On Jan. 18, Yanukovych appointed him as Ukraine’s finance minister.

On Feb. 14, 2012, Yanukovych dismissed Andriy Kliuyev as first deputy prime minister and minister of economic development and trade and appointed him as secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, in place of Raisa Bohatyriova.
