KYIV. March 18 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukraine's Minister of Foreign Affairs Pavlo Klimkin and European Commissioner for Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn have discussed the possibility of the European Union's supporting the implementation of the civil service reform in Ukraine.

“During the meeting the parties, in particular, discussed the status of implementation of the Minsk agreements and the situation in the east of Ukraine, the prospects of introducing a visa-free regime between Ukraine and the EU, the key priorities of Ukrainian authorities in implementing reforms in the near future, as well as the EU’s support for the implementation of the civil service reform,” the press service of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said.

Klimkin and Hahn exchanged views on the first results of the implementation of a deep and comprehensive free trade area between Ukraine and the EU, as well as possible additional measures to ensure the maximum effect of its operation.

“Special attention was paid to the situation with the temporary occupation of Crimea and Sevastopol by Russia and the need for the release of Ukrainians illegally detained in the territory of the Russian Federation and Crimea, in particular Nadiya Savchenko,” reads a statement.
