Leader of the UDAR parliamentary faction Vitali Klitschko says that Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has to tell people about possible consequences of his recent visit to Moscow for Ukraine and the process of its European integration.

“I would like to listen to the president’s explanations why he
visited Moscow and what are possible consequences of these negotiations
for Ukraine. Can this visit to Moscow cross out the results of the
EU-Ukraine Summit and Ukraine’s aspirations for Europe?” he told a press
briefing on Tuesday.

Klitschko stressed that Ukraine has clearly declared its commitment to development and movement towards the European Union.

The MP also said that the president should deliver annual reports at
the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine’s parliament, “however, the president has
not come here for a year.”

“The fact that the president ignores the parliament demonstrates his real attitude to the people’s deputies,” Klitschko said.

As reported, on March 4, 2013, the president of Ukraine met with his
Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in Zavidovo (Tver region).

Yanukovych and Putin held a tête-à-tête meeting to discuss bilateral
cooperation, in particular the gas price talks and the issues related to
economic integration.
