You're reading: Kyiv cardboard paper mill’s output 1.5 percent up in seven months

Kyiv cardboard paper mill in Obukhiv, Kyiv region, Ukraine's leading pulp and paper producer, in January to July 2009 increased production by 1.5% year-over-year, to UAH 650.65 million, a source in the sector has said.

The source said that over seven months ending July 2009 the mill retained growth in production at the level of H1, 2009.

Production of corrugated cardboard and corrugated cardboard boxes in
kind continues dropping, and the reduction remained at the level of H1,
2009.

Production of corrugated boxes shrank by 19.4% year-over-year, to 59.618 million square meters in the period.

Cardboard production in the period fell by 11.4%, to 116,050 tonnes,
including an 8.2% fall in the production of commodity cardboard, to
71,360 tonnes, and a 16.1% fall in box cardboard, to 44,690 tonnes.

In addition, in the seven months of 2009, the mill slightly
decreased paper production by 0.6% year-over-year, to 39,50 tonnes,
while toilet paper output grew by 7.2%, to 157.97 million rolls.

Kyiv cardboard paper mill is one of the largest cardboard and paper
producers in Europe. It mainly produces goods from waste paper. Its
capacity in processing waste paper exceeds 850 tonnes a day.

The share of the mill in total paper production in Ukraine is about 30%.

The mill exports its products to the CIS countries, Iran, Turkey, Hungary, and Bulgaria.

As reported, Kyiv cardboard paper mill in 2008 increased its
production by 36.3% year-over-year, to UAH 1.135 billion. Production of
corrugated boxes grew by 19.6%, to 133.75 million square meters.
Cardboard production in 2008 went up by 7.1%, to 224,940 tonnes.
