Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers has approved an agreement with Lithuania on the cancellation of visa fees for all categories of Ukrainian citizens applying for long-term visas, Ukrainian Deputy Foreign Minister Kostiantyn Yeliseyev has said.
“The Cabinet of Ministers today took the decision approving an
agreement with Lithuania on the provision of free long-term visas for
all categories of Ukrainian citizens,” he told Interfax-Ukraine on
Wednesday.
Yeliseyev said that Ukrainians would be able to get free long-term visas for Lithuania for a period of three months to a year.
He said that Lithuania is the second country after Latvia, which
will sign an agreement with Ukraine on the cancellation of visa fees.
The agreement with Latvia on the cancellation of visa fees took effect on January 16, 2009.
“The agreement with Lithuania was approved today by a government
decision, and [Ukraine’s Acting Foreign Minister] Volodymyr Khandohiy
has been empowered to sign it. I hope this agreement will be signed
soon,” Yeliseyev said.
