You're reading: Kyiv mayor’s office to up number of parking places in Kyiv to 100,000 by late 2009

The Kyiv mayor's office is planning to increase the number of parking places in Kyiv from 17,000 to 100,000 by late 2009, Irena Kylchytska, the first deputy head of Kyiv City State Administration, has reported.

Kylchytska said that communal enterprise Kyivparkservice was created
almost two years ago, and since then its total monthly income has grown
from UAH 600,000 to UAH 5 million. The enterprise’s income in the first
half of 2009 was about UAH 8 million.

Currently there are about 17,000 parking places in Kyiv, Kylchytska said.

“We are planning by the end of 2009 to increase the number of car
places in the city to 100,000. Along with this, the income of
Kyivparkservice is to triple,” she said.
