Kyiv, August 20 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukrainian President Viktor Yuschenko has signed a decree on the events marking the 70th anniversary of the outbreak of World War II.

According to the document posted on the president Web site on Thursday, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry together with the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory have been ordered to objectively inform the international community about a role of the Ukrainian people in World War II. Besides, they were instructed to take steps to maintain and preserve foreign burial sites of Ukrainians, who perished during World War II.

The two institutions should elaborate and adopt within a fortnight a plan of events marking the 70th anniversary of the start of World War II.
