An expert from the Institute of Foreign Policy of the Ukrainian Diplomatic Academy, Oleksandr Paliy, has said that the language issue is being used in Ukraine for the political goal of splitting the country.
He made the comment at a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine on Monday.
“Citizens should understand that as soon as politicians start talking about the language issue, you should check whether the hands of these politicians are in your pockets or not. I want to say that they start speaking about language and the protection of state language when they have nothing else to say,” the expert said.
“The public should understand that we have no disagreements is this issue that cannot be overcome. Moreover, the entire population understands the Ukrainian language and the majority can speak Ukrainian at an everyday level,” Paliy said.
