KHARKIV – MP Olena Shustik and MP Olha Bodnar (both of the BYT-Batkivschyna faction) have said they were not allowed to meet with former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, who is held in Kachanivska penal colony in Kharkiv.

"We were given no chance to meet with her. We received permission to visit the colony from the prison’s leadership, but the court did not allow us to visit Yulia Volodymyrivna Tymoshenko]..," Bodnar told reporters after visiting Kachanivska prison on Monday.

Bodnar also reported that Tymoshenko didn’t have a massage session on Monday morning.

"In the morning she was not allowed to have a massage session, since they had some problems with the massage table, which allegedly didn’t meet some requirements. Now they have brought a table. The prison staff is checking whether it meets their requirements and, I hope that in the afternoon Yulia Volodymyrivna Tymoshenko will receive medical aid," Bodnar said.

She also said that lawmakers would continue to seek permission to meet with Tymoshenko.

Meanwhile, the office of the State Penitentiary Service of Ukraine in Kharkiv reported that the administration of Kachanivska penal colony allowed a masseur to visit former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko on Monday to perform massage therapy.
