People's deputy from the Bloc of Petro Poroshenko faction Serhiy Leshchenko has stated his income, which is sufficient to repay the loan to buy an apartment in Kyiv, is legal.

“This is a deputy wage, this is income from journalist activity in the New Time magazine – I am a coordinator of journalists’ investigations in the magazine, and this is income from publications abroad. This is income from teaching at the Ukrainian Catholic University, as well as revenues from a project funded by the Netherlands Embassy. As of today, I have noted these revenue sources, in addition to income from book sales. This totals six sources of funding. But if you need revenues for a month, it is necessary to take statements from the bank. But I think there is a sufficient amount there. It could be up to Hr 50,000 per month,” Leshchenko said on the sidelines of the parliament in Kyiv, responding to a journalist’s question how he will repay a loan to buy an apartment in Kyiv.

He noted that his relations with musician Anastasia Topolska foresee living together and sharing the future.

“We have common property and a clear agreement how the debt will be repaid,” he said.

“This is a loan for 10 years. This apartment will be formalized jointly with my future wife, who will have corresponding income from performances,” he said, stressing this apartment will appear in the declaration for 2016, which is to be filed by April 1, 2017.
