Libya is seeking to hire enough Ukrainian doctors to fill a deficit nearly 1,500 doctors, Ukraine’s Healt Ministry said in statement.
Ukrainian Health Minister Vasyl Kniazevych on July 18 had a
working meeting with his Libyan counterpart Mohamed Hijazi and the sides
discussed a number of questions on cooperation in the health care sector.
According to the press service, Mohamed Hijazi applied to
Vasyl Kniazevych with a request to facilitate any Ukrainian specialists interested
in working at hospitals in Libya. Mohamed Hijazi said the doctor shortage in
Libya is estimated to be nearly 1,500 specialists.
He assured the representatives of the Ukrainian Health
Ministry that all rights and freedoms of Ukrainian specialists in Libya will be
preserved and protected.
According to a statement by the press service, nearly 450
Ukrainian doctors currently work in Libya.
