The head of Ukraine's Euro 2012 Local Organizing Committee (LOC) Markiyan Lubkivsky has said that the agency he heads is a link between UEFA and the Ukrainian government, which is only involved in organizing the finals of the Euro 2012 European Football Championship.
“The local organizing committee is involved only in the organization
of the tournament. At the same time, we’re monitoring the observance of
UEFA standards during infrastructure development. The LOC is a link
between UEFA and the Ukrainian government. LOC experts provide
explanations on UEFA demands, help achieve these demands, and oversee
the schedule of work implementation,” he said during an Internet
conference on Wednesday.
Commenting on mutual relations between the Ukrainian and Polish
local organizing committees, he said that there were no problems in the
organization of the tournament.
“Ukraine and Poland are the organizers of one sporting event, so we
cannot allow any discrepancies. I think our Polish partners also
understand this,” Lubkivsky said.
He also said that Euro 2012 tickets would be sold from March 2011,
and added that their cost would be announced early in 2011. He said
that the price of tickets would be the same in Poland and Ukraine.
