Public joint-stock company Luhanskteplovoz owned by Russia's Transmashholding (TMH) has denied some media reports that the company has stopped operation of its plant, the press service of Luhansk City Council has reported.
“The plant is operating in the usual regime. Products are made under the plan, the number of shifts was not cut and the operation schedule was not changed,” the press service said, citing director for social issue at Luhanskteplovoz Stefan Kushnarev.
As reported, some mass media reported on June 7 that Luhanskteplovoz stopped its operation due to the armed conflict.
Head of the supervisory board of the company Viktor Bykadorov told Interfax-Ukraine that on Monday, June 7, due to the vague situation in the city Luhanskteplovoz stopped operating, but on June 8, 2014 the plant resumed its operation.
Luhanskteplovoz produces mainline and shunting diesel locomotives, diesel and electric trains, trams, and spare parts for railway transport.
In 2013, the company increased production in monetary terms by 75 percent compared to 2012, to more than Hr 3 billion, its net profit was up by 4.1 times, to Hr 158.28 million.
