Kyiv Court of Appeals has extended the arrest of former Ukrainian Interior Minister Yuriy Lutsenko for five months - until May 26.

An Interfax-Ukraine reporter said that the court had issued such a ruling on Thursday, after considering a motion from the Prosecutor General’s Office to extend the arrest.

Thus, the motion of the prosecutor’s office was satisfied, and the court found no grounds to change the measure of restraint for Lutsenko to one other than arrest.

While commenting on the court ruling, Lutsenko said that it had been based on "a feeling of revenge," rather than on justice.
