Verkhovna Rada Chairman Volodymyr Lytvyn expects the Ukrainian parliament to consider the draft Tax Code at the second reading on November 16-18.
Volodymyr Lytvyn gave his opinion in an interview with the Rada television channel.
"The Verkhovna Rada is most likely to start considering the draft Tax Code at second reading on November 16. I think November 16-17, and November 18 if necessary, will be enough for the Rada to arrive at a decision," said Volodymyr Lytvyn.
He said the consideration of the draft Tax Code during the next plenary session week [November 2-5] is impossible.
"I was too optimistic when I thought we are ready to start considering this matter. There are too many recommendations [concerning the draft document endorsed at first reading]. They are being processed. The number of propositions is 4,400," he said.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Verkhovna Rada deputy Vitalii Khomutynnyk from the faction of the Party of Regions, who heads the parliamentary committee for tax and customs policies, expects the Verkhovna Rada to endorse the Tax Code before November 19.
The draft Tax Code of the Cabinet of Ministers has caused protest rallies of entrepreneurs in many regions of Ukraine.
The tax committee promises to take into consideration all demands of entrepreneurs while preparing the draft document for the second reading.
The Verkhovna Rada endorsed the draft Tax Code at the first reading on October 7.
