Ukrainian Parliament Speaker Volodymyr Lytvyn met with Ukrainian President Viktor Yuschenko on Wednesday, the speaker's press service has reported.

The meeting was held at Yuschenko’s request, reads the statement.

Lytvyn informed Yuschenko about plans for the Verkhovna Rada’s work,
the agenda of the parliament’s session and difficulties currently being
faced by the parliament, reads the statement.

Yuschenko, in turn, “expressed concern over the social and economic
situation in the country and said that the Verkhovna Rada should work
to be a force for stability and dialogue among politicians and the
public,” reads the statement.
