The congress of the People’s Part of Ukraine may take place after October 20, the party’s leader and parliamentary speaker Volodymyr Lytvyn said Saturday in Uman, Cherkasy region.
According to the speaker, the congress will be held after October 20, as on October 19-20 he is to make a trip to the United Kingdom at the invitation of the country’s leadership.
Lytvyn noted that the congress may take place on October 21 following his visit.
At the same time, the politician reminded that the deadline for registration of presidential candidates is November 13. “We still have time,” he said.
Earlier, Lytvyn announced that he is going to run for president at Ukraine’s elections scheduled for January 17, 2010.
