The civic activist Internet portal maidan reports that the west side of the Paton bridge over the Dnipro River has been unexpectedly closed to pedestrians because of road repair works.
Activists had planned to form a human chain across the bridge on Jan. 22 at 1100 a.m. to symbolize the unification of eastern and western Ukraine.
