In a July 18 report for Maxboxing.com, Marty Mulcahey writes: It comes as no surprise to Ukraine’s Andriy Kotelnik that he enters today's showdown with Amir Khan as the underdog.

He will do so despite his opponent moving up in weight, having less experience, and suffering a one round kayo loss less than a year ago. Kotelnik is the known commodity, while Khan remains suspect in many areas. For some reason, Kotelnik has never been anybody’s favorite, despite a stellar amateur career and the determination he displayed earning a world title after two previous setbacks on the global stage. There is no clamor for, or glamour around, Kotelnik, which is why a win over the latest hotshot from Britain is so important to this blue-collar fighter from Ukraine.
