Kyiv Mayor Leonid Chernovetsky appealed to the city residents though his personal website to report on illegal casinos operating in the capital after the nationwide ban on gambling that came into effect in July.
“The ban on gambling business made this sphere go underground. In most cases gambling machines work at night, and the visitors are familiar clients who warn about their visit head of time,” Chernovetsky wrote in his address. “I will remind you that the fine for conducting illegal activities in the gambling business sector is Hr 5 million, and this is a real source of income for the budget.”
Chernovetsky said any illegal gambling activity in the city can be reported to the email address [email protected] and to the mayor’s hotline, 15-51, and then forwarded to the police who are authorized to investigate such cases.
