The Agriculture Ministry of Ukraine has not reduced the forecast for sugar output in 2009, Agriculture Minister Yuriy Melnyk has said.
“We have not reduced our forecast and expect sugar production at a level of 1.5 million tonnes,” Melnyk told journalists in Kyiv on Wednesday.
According to Melnyk, 64 sugar refineries will work in Ukraine in the 2009/2010 marketing year.
Melnyk said that as of early week the Agrarian Fund had sold 24,700 of 39,700 tonnes of sugar.
