You're reading: Moscow: International committee work on Malaysian Boeing crash site should be transparent

Russia insists that the work of the international committee probing the Malaysian Boeing crash in eastern Ukraine should be as transparent as possible, all standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) should be complied with, and Russia is ready to participate in it as a team player.

This stance was stated during a meeting between Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin and Malaysian Defense Minister Hishammuddin Hussein in Moscow on Sept. 10, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

“During the meeting the Malaysian Airlines plane crash, which occurred above Ukraine in July 17, 2014, was discussed in detail. Russia had confirmed readiness to provide all assistance necessary for the work being held under the ICAO aegis and to participate actively in it,” the document said.

At the same time, the investigation is incomplete, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

“Essentially, most important tests have not been carried out at the crash site and sound conclusions on the reasons of what has happened are impossible without those. Dragging the probe has already led to the fact that it is impossible to perform some tests. Executing all provisions of the UN Security Council resolution 2166 is still pressing,” the statement said.
