You're reading: Mykola Martynenko appointed as new Our Ukraine-People’s Self-Defense faction leader

Mykola Martynenko has been appointed head of the Our Ukraine-People's Self-Defense parliamentary faction, OUPSD MP Roman Zvarych said on Friday.

The decision was taken at a faction meeting on Friday.

“At the faction meeting this morning, [OUPSD] deputy faction leader Borys Tarasiuk announced that via the procedure of collecting signatures from faction members, the majority supported the candidacy of Mykola Martynenko,” he said.

Oleksandr Tretiakov was appointed as another deputy faction leader.

At the present moment, Martynenko is a head of the Verkhovna Rada Fuel and Energy Committee.

Earlier, Viacheslav Kyrylenko headed the faction.
