Kyiv, Dec. 16 (Interfax-Ukraine) – A delegation from national joint-stock company Naftogaz Ukrainy, headed by copany CEO Oleh Dubyna, will continue discussing natural gas supplies with Russian gas company Gazprom in Moscow on Tuesday, Naftogaz's press service has told Interfax-Ukraine.
As reported on Monday, the Naftogaz delegation has arrived in Moscow for another round of negotiations with Gazprom. The parties aim to discuss payment calculation for gas imported by Naftogaz in September and November, and the conditions for its supply and transit throughout Ukraine for 2009. A one-day visit was initially planned, but this has been extended.
Until recently, Gazprom stated that in case of payment failures, it would be forced to increase the price for Ukraine from $179.50 to $400 per cubic meter of gas starting from January 1.
On Dec.12, Gazprom Vice President Alexander Medvedev stated that the company has worked out a compromise on Ukraine’s gas debt. No details have been given.
