The national bureau for investigation into air crashes and incidents with civil aircraft is investigating into the reasons of the crash of the Yak-52 plane near the Chaika air field in Kyiv.

The press service of the Infrastrcuture Ministry of Ukraine has
reported that at 1103 on Saturday, a Yak-52 plane, which performed a
training flight, crashed near the Chaika air field in Kyiv.

Two crew members were on the board. The pilot was killed after the
crash, and the second pilot was injured and taken to hospital.

“The investigation of the air crash conducting by a commission of the
national bureau for investigation into air crashes and incidents with
civil aircraft, is under control of Ukrainian Vice Premier Oleksandr
Vilkul,” reads the report.

Transport Prosecutor General Serhiy Oliynyk, cited by the Fifth TV
Channel, said that this was an acceptance familiarization flight. The
engine packed up in the height of 200 meters, the plane made a nosedive
and crashed neat the air field.

The injured pilot and the body of another pilot were taken out of the
plane by constructors who were staying near the crash scene at the
moment, the Fifth TV Channel reported.
