The Washington-based National Endownment for Democracy,a private, nonprofit foundation dedicated to the growth and strengthening of democratic institutions around the world, has scheduled a roundtable discussion on Feb. 4 to discuss and compare developments in Russia and Ukraine.

Ukraine will be represented by Oleh Ryabachuk, the former head of former President Viktor Yushchenko’s Presidential Administration, who currently chairs Centre UA, a Kyiv-based non-governmental organization, Andriy Shevchenko, a parliament deputy belonging to opposition leader Yulia Tymoshenko’s faction, and Vitaly Portnikov, a journalist with Radio Free Liberty/Radio Europe who hosts a weekly TV news affairs program for Ukraine’s TVi channel.
