The National TV and Radio Broadcasting Council of Ukraine has addressed the courts with a demand for sanctions to be used against nine TV channels due to the violation of regulations on the distribution and screening of movies on TV.
The regulator has asked the courts to use sanctions against 1+1, STB, 2+2, Ukrayina, NLO-TV, Novy Kanal, NTN and Pohoda TV channels. Tonis channel is to correct violations.
According to the regulator’s monitoring, the TV channels violated the conditions for screening program products by giving them inaccurate over-the-air indicators, and thus screening them at inappropriate times. According to the Code of Administrative Violations, a court can use sanctions against the channels in this case. The sum of the fine might amount to Hr 349-595 under each protocol with the confiscation of film prints and funds earned from screening, sale or renting. Each of the channels is subject to protocols 1-19.
