About 20 nationalists picketed the building of the administration of the Ukrainian presidential on Thursday, demanding that the celebration of the Freedom Day at the state level be resumed.

An Interfax-Ukraine reporter said that among the protesters were representatives of the Congress of Ukrainian Nationalists, the Ukrainian People’s Party, and the UNA-UNSO.

The demonstrators passed a letter to a representative of the administration asking the president to cancel “winter,” because “natural gas is not getting cheaper, but the cold does not believe in tears,” “economy,” because it “does not work,” “cabbage,” because “it listened to [Prime Minister Mykola] Azarov and is not available to people, ” and “authoritarianism,” because “it is a stranger to Ukrainians.”

The rally took place peacefully, without any incidents.

As reported, the Freedom Day was celebrated on Nov. 22. This holiday was established on Nov. 19, 2005 by a decree of President Viktor Yuschenko.

On Dec. 30, 2011, President Viktor Yanukovych signed a decree establishing the Day of Unity and Freedom on Jan. 22.
