You're reading: NBU cuts rate of reservation on funds raised from non-residents to 0 percent

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has lowered the rate of reservation for funds in foreign currency attracting from non-residents from 20 percent to 0 percent, according to the National Bank's page on Facebook.

According to the report, the decision was stipulated in decree No. 419, which amends the rules of reserving funds under the agreement, according to which banks attract deposits, credits in foreign currency from non-residents for the period actually equal to or less than 183 calendar days.

“Changing the reservation rate will allow banks under the shortage of foreign and domestic income to obtain additional short-term liquidity to support their operational activities,” reads the report.
