You're reading: Nemyria: Ukraine’s government doing its utmost to honor agreement with IMF

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine continues work to fulfill agreements with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to receive the next tranche under the Stand-By Arrangement (SBA) with Ukraine, according to a statement on the Ukrainian government's official Web site.

“The Ukrainian government is doing its utmost to fulfill its obligations to the IMF for the successful review of the SBA and for the disbursement of the next tranche, which will be fully funneled into the budget,” reads the statement citing Ukrainian Vice Premier Hryhoriy Nemyria who met with IMF First Deputy Managing Director John Lipsky in Istanbul.

According to Nemyria, successful cooperation with the IMF is of paramount importance to Ukraine, as this will allow the country to gradually overcome the crisis.

As reported, Nemyria is leading Ukrainian delegates who are on a visit to Istanbul, Turkey, on October 3-8, 2009, to attend the Annual Meetings of the Boards of Governors of the World Bank Group and the IMF.
