On 4 April, US-based democracy-advocacy group Freedom House visited Ukraine's jailed former prime minister and oppositions leader Yulia Tymoshenko, who is serving a seven-year sentence for abuse of office, and said it is seriously concerned for her health. Freedom House envoy Damon Wilson said Tymoshenko was unable to sit or stand and had to lie in bed at Kharkiv's Kachanivska women's penal colony No. 54 during the delegation's entire visit.
