A Ukrainian lawyer who recently moved to Brooklyn was about to be married and had everything to live for.

But on March 23, Yuliya Hermanska left her Sheepshead Bay apartment to run an errand, and a 66-year-old driver jumped the curb and mowed her down. She died of her injuries a week later.

“I keep on asking myself, ‘Why did you let her go to the store?’ ” said her devastated fiancé, Vitaly Obodovsky. He and Hermanska, who was 27, were due to wed this month.
