You're reading: Nineteen pitmen from Donetsk region mine remain at hospital

Nineteen pitmen injured as a result of an accident at a Donetsk regional mine run by Makiyivvuhillia state company are currently at hospital.

As reported, eight miners were killed on August 23 as a result of a
discharge of coal-and-gas mixture, which occurred at a depth of 190
meters at the Kirov coalmine at the town of Makiyivka, Donetsk region.

A total 355 people were underground at that moment, twelve were immediately at the accident site.

A governmental commission lead by Coal Industry Minister Viktor Poltavets is to find out the causes of the accident.

The commission will be working at the site until all the circumstances of the accident become clear.
