You're reading: No one hurt after explosion on railway tracks in Kharkiv Oblast

KHARKIV - No one was injured when an explosion went off on the railway stretch between Zhykhor and Zmiyiv in the Kharkiv Oblast at about midnight when a freight train was traveling along the railway, Southern Railways' police department said in a statement.

“The right-side tracks were damaged on a down stretch about a meter long. The incident is under investigation,” the statement says.

“Railway services along the double tracks were not interrupted and continued without delays. Repair work had been done by 4.21 a.m. and rail services were fully restored,” the statement says.

Another blast went off near a monument with the Ukrainian flag in central Kharkiv early on April 7. No one was injured. The blast blew out windows in nearby buildings. The foot of the monument was damaged. The incident was qualified as a terror attack.
