Media reports by Ukraine spread false rumours
The Russian embassy in Ukraine has said that Russian visas will be issued “immediately and free of charge” for the European Commission gas transit monitoring group members.
The embassy’s press service said this on Thursday in a comment in response to the information spread by some Ukrainian mass media about certain troubles with issuing Russian visas to monitoring group members.”
The embassy officials said that only two such applications were received from the moment of the given group establishment till presently. Thus, Czech citizen David Stulik was issued a visa by the general consulate in Kharkiv and Swedish citizen Margaret Georgievic was issued a visa by the consulate department in the Russian embassy.
“According to the directions from Russian Foreign Ministry the visas were issued immediately and free of charge,” the press service said.
According to the embassy, the claims of some problems with getting Russian visas for monitoring group members “are ungrounded”.
