You're reading: No Ukrainians among Turkey bus crash victims

Preliminary findings indicate that no Ukrainian citizens were among the casualties of a bus crash in Turkey on Aug. 6, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry reported.

“Based on preliminary reports, there are no Ukrainian citizens among those injured in the accident in Turkey. Our consul is continuing to work,” Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mariana Betsa told Interfax-Ukraine on Aug. 6 evening.

It was reported earlier that a tourist bus had overturned on a road between Pamukkale and Antalya near Denizli, southwestern Turkey, at about 3.30 p.m. local time.

The bus belonged to the company Kilit Global, a counter-agent of the Russian travel operators Tez Tour and Biblio Globus. Local media said there were 64 passengers on the bus, mostly citizens of Russia, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan. The Tez Tour press service said there were also citizens of Lithuania among the passengers.

Alexander Leshukov, the press attache of the Russian embassy to Turkey, had told Interfax earlier on Thursday that four Russians had been killed and 27 others injured in the bus crash. Twenty injured Russians were taken to hospitals in Antalya and Denizli, he said.

Media also reported that citizens of Kazakhstan and Belarus were among those injured.
