President ready to propose interior forces commander-in-chief for post of defense minister.

Kyiv, October 10 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukrainian President Viktor Yuschenko could propose Interior Forces Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Kikhtenko for the post of defense minister to be approved by the parliament.

The Dzerkalo Tyzhnia (Mirror Weekly) newspaper said on Saturday, referring to own sources, Yuschenko as Supreme Commander-in-Chief has proposed to the head of the State Border Service, Mykola Lytvyn to run the post, although Lytvyn did not agree to take the post.
